Wool is sticky, winter is long

Ah! the joy of wool wound too tightly. This skein of blue wool was over-spun. That means the strands are constantly winding around themselves and each other  causing nightmare knots and the slowest winding-on process I have ever dealt with.

Finally, minus a few inches of length for twisting knots and a few inches of width (I didn’t have nearly enough heddles) this houndstooth stripe blanket is on the loom.

The pattern will relax into itself a bit when it is off the loom.

I’ll save complaining about how hard it is to find my favorite heddles for another post…

so far, so good!
